One thing that can catch people out at the lift gate: your Mobile Pass on the My Epic app is not accepted at Crans-Montana or any other international partner, so you need to bring the physical card.
Why Crans-Montana Is Different

Crans-Montana offers something different: 140km of pistes and 24 lifts on a sunny plateau at 1,500m, rising to just under 3,000m on the Plaine Morte glacier. Getting to Crans-Montana
Most North American visitors arrive via Geneva, 180km away, with direct flights from several US East Coast hubs. From there you have three options:
- Private chauffeur transfer, around two and a half hours
- Rental car
- Swiss rail to Sierre, then the historic funicular up to Montana in about ten minutes

Tips for First-Time American Visitors

- Reserve accommodation six to twelve months in advance.
- Fly into Geneva unless Zurich or Milan is materially cheaper.
- Order your physical Epic Pass card before you travel.
- Rent equipment locally rather than paying airline ski fees.
- Book restaurants before you arrive during any holiday period.
- Check your travel insurance covers mountain rescue.
- Plan at least one non-ski day and allow time to enjoy the village.
