Ski From The Plaine Morte Glacier
The Crans-Montana ski resort is on a sun drench plateau at 1,500m and surrounded by world-class skiing routes. With a total of 140 km of slopes surrounding the resort, there are plenty of options when it comes to snow sports. The Crans-Montana ski slopes stretch high up to the Plaine Morte Glacier, which itself sits at 3,000m above sea level. From here you will be able to access a variety of slopes, all of which vary in difficulty.
Beyond the edge of the forest near Crans-Montana, the pistes are open, making them easily skiable for beginners and deep-snow skiers. Those skiers who are more confident will find taking the chairlift to La Toula will present a challenging but exciting descent. A particularly popular route can be found by descending the Piste Nationale, this route is also the longest in the region, at 12 km. During the winter months, expansive golf courses in Crans-Montana are covered with snow which make them very popular with cross-country skiers.
