Carnivals & Festivals
Enjoy the rich tradition of Grimentz in a way like no other during a festival in the village. Grimentz is well-know for its Folk Music Festival, this festival see’s the use of traditional Swiss instruments in the relaxed and warm setting of the village.
Or why not experience the classical FestiVal d’Anniviers which takes place in August. This concert is held in Grimentz and attracts the top classical performers to entertain crowds in the beautiful surroundings of the Grimentz village.
For the ultimate festive experience visit the Grimentz Christmas market Les Fériées de Noël, taking place in December. There is no better place to get in the Christmas spirit while enjoy delicious food, drink, and entertainment.
Ski & Mountain Bike Events
The unique Alpine landscape around Grimentz allows for one of the best skiing and mountain biking opportunities in Switzerland, with this comes some fantastic events to watch or take part in. Exciting downhill skiing competitions take place on the slopes of the Val d’Anniviers while mountain bike activities take place closer to the Grimentz village.
The legendary Grand Raid Mountain Bike Race finishes in Grimentz with participants allowed to join at any of four starting points along the 125km total race length. From Verbier (1500 m) to Grimentz (1570 m), participants enjoy incredible scenery as they pass through the mountain trails.
Après Ski Activities
Enjoy the huge amount of family après ski activities in and around Grimentz. Bendolla Bouge is an open-air leisure park just a short cable car journey from Grimentz. Enjoy tree climbing and mountain bike trails, as well as an exciting “Big Airbag” experience, where both adults and children can jump from a raised platform onto a giant airbag. Bendolla is sure to be fun for the whole family and makes a great day out when you’re off the slopes.
Or why not challenge your friends and family to a game of minigolf. The 16 hole course in Grimentz makes a great afternoon activity, and better still, it is free with the Anniviers Liberté pass!
Daytime & Evening Entertainment in Grimentz
The peaceful village of Grimentz is a beautiful place to explore in the daytime, with extensive views of the surrounding mountains, this village is a true Alpine wonderland. The village has a natural ice rink which makes a fantastic afternoon activity for the whole family, both in the day and in the evening, when it is lit to make it even more magical.
Witness the famous cattle drive in mid-June which goes up to an altitude of 2850m. Traditionally this is the day the cows choose among themselves their queen and their ranking within the herd which will last the whole summer. In addition to the Eringer cows, which are native to the Val D’Anniviers, more than 20 other breeds spend the summer together. The queens are specially adorned when the cows leave the pastures. Having a queen in your own cowshed is something very desirable. Milk from these cows is processed directly on site into Raclette or Tomme. The cheese dairy on the Moiry alp is the highest in Switzerland.
As the sunlight fades on the village of Grimentz it begins to adopt an even more traditional feel, with a sense of magic in the air as the Alpine architecture is lit by soft, warm streetlights. Walking through the streets at this time is an experience in itself, but if you are looking for something more exciting why not head for the slopes once again to enjoying evening skiing and fondue.
Fondue Lune Bendolla is great activity for the whole family, and experience like no other. Come and eat a fondue and ski down under the full moon from the Bendolla mountain restaurant in Grimentz.
There is nothing more convivial than a delicious fondue with friends and family, finished with a ski descent during a full moon! Staring at 18:30 you will enjoy a fully organised evening taking you through until 21:00.

Bars & Clubs
Even with the relaxed atmosphere in Grimentz, it is still a great destination for a very social and enjoyable night out. Though there are only a few venues for true après ski activities you will find they have a vibrant aura and attract a lot of people straight after a ski session.
One of the most popular après ski bars in Grimentz is Chez Florioz. This bar is conveniently located at the bottom of the ski slopes, attracting a friendly crowd in the afternoon and into the evening. Serving great food and drinks to its customers, it is regarded as a ‘must’ for any après ski lover. With live music it makes a fantastic place to socialise and unwind after a long day and tell tales of the days skiing adventures.
For a more relaxing evening after a fun filled day on the slopes visit the Bar La Trappe in Grimentz. This bar is known for its peaceful ambiance and serves tasty food and drinks from 2pm – 9pm daily.
